Aim
It is intended that after the discussion delegates will have better understanding of the relationship between periodontal and endodontic infections and be able to outline the treatment strategy. 

Objectives 
  • To briefly review the anatomy of the periodontal tissues and the root canal system.
  • To review the clinical diagnostic procedures and classification of Perio-Endo lesions.
  • To discuss the influence of endodontic status on periodontal healing.
  • To understand the effect of periodontal disease and therapy on the pulp.
  • To discuss the treatment and prognosis of perio-endo lesions.

Peri-implant Diseases: a case-based discussion on prevention, risk reduction and treatment.

Aim
It is intended that after the discussion delegates will have better understanding of the biological complications around implants and be competent in the prevention and diagnosis of peri-implant diseases.

Objectives 
  • To briefly review the anatomy of the periodontal and peri-implant tissues.
  • To review the etiology, prevalence, classification and risk factors of peri-implant diseases.
  • To be able to detect early signs of disease.
  • To discuss the treatment strategies for peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis.

Periodontal Treatment in the Implant era: is there a place for Periodontal regeneration?

Aim
It is intended that after the discussion delegates will have better understanding of:
- indications and limitations of periodontal regeneration
- current techniques and biomaterials used in periodontal regeneration 
- the value of treating a compromised tooth vs extraction and replacement with an implant
- ​peri-implant complications in patients with a history of periodontal disease. 


Objectives 
  • To briefly review the prognosis of periodontally compromised teeth.
  • Review the outcomes of periodontal treatment
  • To review the current techniques and materials used for periodontal regeneration
  • To discuss the influence of periodontal disease on the outcome of implant therapy.​
